It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Eric came home from work and said, "I guess I'll get our Christmas tree while you're home in Maryland." Let's just say that our trip home snuck up on me a little this time. I will be getting back to Altus with the rest of my family on Christmas Eve, which hardly leaves time for tree trimmin'! The thought of Eric on a solo mission to pick out our first tree made me a tad melancholy. Despite the fact that we had much to do in preparation for another (yes, we count our lucky stars) trip home to Maryland AND a date with our JAG family for our weekly "family" dinner, I suggested that we Christmastify our house together tonight!

Ta DA!

Tis the season to be jolly
Eric is disappointed that this tree doesn't taste good. It's fake and he likes to nibble on pine needles. I am bracing for the barrage of (much deserved) teasing I will get from my family for having a fake tree. But all in all, I'd say we didn't do too bad considering this came together after a last minute run on Wal Mart. Thank goodness for Eric's Chinese balls (read, Cloisonné ornaments his parents gifted us from China).

An early Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
